Metabones, makers of the very highly regarded speed booster, announced in a press release that they will, in fact, be producing a Speed Booster specifically for the Blackmagic Pocket 4K Camera. This is the most relevant part below, if you don’t want to read the entire press release from Metabones.
I owned and loved the Metabones Speed Booster for the original Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and got exceptional results with all my old Nikon glass. I did a quick comparison test of the original 5 years ago here:
Not being one to wait, I’ve already acquired the Metabones Speed Booster XL and will report my experience with that in a future post with test footage. The XL works perfectly on the BMP4K and is available in Nikon and Canon flavors. It’s pretty much a permanent fixture on my new Pocket 4K.
